I remember a while back there was discussion of water causing engine problems.
Can anyone advise what were the exact symptoms in the engine performance because of water in the diesel. I don't have an exact problem but just different combustion noises at different revs/ throttle position. It seems like a TD5 (rattle noise) when at low throttle accelerating slowly and after 2000 r/min it queitens down nice and smooth. When I discovered about 50cc of water in the filter I relocated the breather and have never had water again since, only fine brown mud which was sucked in the first time. I assume the filter is fine enough to keep the mud from progressing further. Also not sure if 50cc would be enough to worrey about - seemed very little. Yes 50cc are enough ... 40cc is the limit mentioned in the bulletin
take a look : http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic496.html?highlight=codes I had this problem so the fuel breather was relocated .. then the problem cames again so the FMV was replaced. Now it's seems to run fine ... touch wood But did the engine lamp turned on ? |
