I’ve read mixed reviews from owners of different models like the RR and Velar. Some regret getting the color, others don’t. Part of me wanted to get the ‘21 Defender X-Dynamic in Silicon Silver because the Dynamic package has Silicon Silver color keyed front and rear bumpers - it would make the color scheme of the overall vehicle more monotone and consistent.
I think the stock bumpers of the ‘20 are too bright silver...there’s just too much color blocking going on. I only decided against silicon silver when I saw these pics of Land Rover models in overcast light. The paint looks like the car is hazy and needs a car wash...very similar to when you drive a car around on a dirty slushy snow day and the car dries off leaving a dirty film on the paint. Just looks a little washed out. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Last edited by abpod on 8th Nov 2020 2:48pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Thanks, Abpod.
That's what I was concerned about. My current D4 is the opposite - it's Aruba, and looks superb in late afternoon low light, but is a plainish Silver in bright sunlight. My previous D4 was Nara Bronze and looked very nice. I've seen Pangea (with a white roof), but not Gwondana. Of course the "X" has a black roof and bonnet. It's a pity that there are no bolder colours available. Kerry |

I had a silicon silver D5 and it looked great, I was disappointed when I found out that silicon silver was not an option for the new Defender. I was off when they made the option available after my truck went into production. I had to settle with Eiger Grey.
I think the new Defender would look superb in Silicon Silver. 130's have feeling's as well you know |

Andrew, is it a deep gloss Silver? Part of me thinks that it should look great with a black roof and bonnet. The Pangea one at my closest dealer looks good in the showroom (it's fitted with the roof rack, ladder, side box etc), but slightly less impressive outside. I doubt I'll be able to see an "X" before ordering - I don't think either of the two Tasmanian dealers would order one for stock. Kerry.

I do like the Carpathian Grey. Can look black without being all black. I’m more interested in hearing from owners how they like the Khaki interior..

@Hendrik -
looks great! and just as I suspected, the body paint more closely matches the "satin silicon silver" bumpers/pans on the X-Dyn. '21 L663 X-Dyn HSE P400 Carpathian '13 L319 '03 L322 |
