Cheers. Unfortunately the HUD is too rich for my blood, if it was the same price I’d go for that.
All hypothetical and depends on the outcome of the “oh darling, can I get a .......... “ conversation, and that depends on whether I can pluck up the courage. And for those in doubt, she does! |

I’ve specced it and for the sake of £300 on a nearly £50k car I wouldn’t be without it.
You can choose a number of different options for display in terms of speedo/tacho position, map etc. whereas with the analogue dash you are fixed with what’s provided. It wasn’t an option on 20MY base models, and I would have happily made do with the analogue dash, but for 21MY it can be specced so I have done so. |

When I recently test drove the Defender, I was generally impressed with the robust and functional dashboard. The digital centre display worked well and seemed appropriate (like an ipad, useful in my TDi). However, the full digital driver´s display was in my opinion, a bridge too far.
No way would I pay extra for it. Head up display... in anything less than an F16 fighter, unneccessary! In a Defender 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MT´s, Recaro CS´s, anorak, wellingtons |

Yes. Its a £520 option on D5, so a bargain in comparison. |

Now that begs the question, are we allowed to be as mean about the D5 as we are Disco3-side?

I have to say I'm staggered at just how much remarkable stuff you chaps can get in your new Defenders.
When I ordered my 2014 110, it came as standard with "Radio preparation". "A radio, Sir? That's an extra £350 please." Mind you, given JLR's vast experience with electronics, I can't wait to see the 'Technical Queries' section on here in 2040...! |
