The rear quarter panel/rear panel on my 110 has been dented since we bought it about 6years ago which hasn't really bothered me previously but as it will be having a rebuilt and new paintjob in the new year it seems a good time to sort it out.
The dent looks to have been caused by someone reversing into something and it contacting the rear fog light (before the ladder and bumperettes were fitted) which has pushed the whole panel in slightly. This is most noticeable by the visible gap between the panel and vertical rear corner capping. I was originally intending to replace the panel but i don't want to end up with a load of visible pop rivets along the originally spot welded joins to the bottom section and wheel arch box. If it was the otherside i wouldn't be as bothered as the numberplate would hide most of the rivets. The dent is too large and shallow to make filler practical. Does anyone have any suggestions other than leaving as is or trying a PDR person? (Apologies, hard to photo a dent on a white body!) If you're getting a repaint (as your original post says) take it to a competent bodywork specialist and get it reapired.
otherwise remove all the lights and fitting from the area, work it back more or less into shape, and if necessary skim with filler prior to painting. It doesn't look a difficult blemish to repair to me from the photos. |

As BW says should be easy for a body shop to repair.
As A DIY option, unrivet the capping, repair & 'flatten' the existing then bond with sikaflex or similar a new panel over the existing - you may need to cut/grind the return off the left hand side to allow the panel to move to the right enough if that makes sense. There should be enough tolerance to slide a panel up under the top capping. The original structure will be intact, the corner capping, top capping and ladder will cover any edges and the panel being 1.5mm (panel plus glue) thicker won't be noticeable on a meccano truck! think you got lucky, there was a really nice 110 adventure in Keswick few weeks back with a huge squish to the rear 1/4
