Tie this to your exhaust...
Joking aside and I don't know, its nothing to do with your phone? how does it get the app? do you have a LR login for a computer or phone, maybe you can add remove apps you see on the informatics screen ? |

You are right - I think it has to do with licensing as several apps I had over 2 pages on the screen is now only one full page and 3 apps on the 2nd page....... but there are 5 screens of them on my iPhone Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

My nephew worked on the team developing the weather app for the new defender. He is now working for a software firm in Manchester so he can't come home anytime soon or I would ask him if he could shed any light on it for you.

In a previous life I was involved with aviation & on a weather-limits course our instructor breezed into the classroom & said we could spend about 6 months studying weather-limits for flying or we could just look out of the window to get an accurate picture of what the actual weather was; we opted for the brief lesson & then went for a beer...sorted! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains

I'd never seen any point to having apps and tech stuff integrated into a Defender, but this one has a possible advantage.
As soon as the weather app says SNOW, you know it's time to go for a drive. |

If apps in cars are going to be as reliable as apps on smart TVs, I wouldn't waste your time with them. They will be outdated very fast.
Watched the apps on my Samsung TV disappear one by one. There was a piece on TV about it and the excuse was the TVs as they get older are seen as 'old' technology which the new apps won't work with. Although this could be seen as a marketing ploy to get you to buy a new telly - it hasn't worked for me. Makes you wonder at seven years old, how much of this technology will still be working in these new vehicles? |

I’ve found one way around my disappearing OS maps app in Apple Car Play, and this one is the right size to see the detail
My IPad Pro 11” on its Brodit dash mount from my old Defender 90 fits exactly over the “hole” in centre console only problem was where I took this photo there was no cellular network coverage......... but at least the ViewRanger app works offline. Here’s where we were today Click image to enlarge Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. It's not just Weather App my Defender lost, but InControl Connect App got lost, too. Here's the story.
At delivery, both apps didn't work. While starting them the system got stuck in loading/starting the apps. Dealer fixed it, everything worked fine for two days. Then there was a software update over the air ans both apps where gone again. While waiting for appointment at dealer, there has been one more software update over the air. Surprise, both apps back again and working. Just to find out next day they are both gone away again. Maybe they are travelling from car to car trying to find home... |

Very similar to the Hema map app we use for off road Tim, whilst you need a GSM based iPad, that is only for the GPS receiver element, no SIM required. It is more a map and position app than navigation, but has great topography detail.. yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |
