Square shape [approx 4"x4"] with six led's ... sells for £40 or so .... not as bright as hoped, and cheap parts, led's flickered when too hot [15 mins or so] ... couldn't possibly name supplier [but their trade name is a 'play' on their home town] Wink

This new one makes that one look like a candle! Super bright , run it for 2 hours last night - faultless. WELL happy Thumbs Up Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

My old one was same spec [and same dealer] but square version ... it did its job, but wasnt anywhere near as bright as they lead you to beleive, and wasnt any use for long useage, would flicker after 10/15 minutes and then go out until heatsink had cooled, then repeat on/flicker/off cycle every few minutes.
I know SO many people unhappy with their purchase from them .. and their aftercare is non exsistant! I didnt even get a reply to e-mails [4] nor could i actually get to talk to a human on the phone on 2 attempts [and no return call]
Seems they dont care Rolling Eyes

Your money, your call .... but i know what i'd do Whistle Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Thanks Dave - that's really helpful.

I guess when something seems really cheap ... There's probably a good reason for it.

How did you route the wiring? Looks like exactly the sort of light I've been looking for and good to know it's been field tested. Thumbs Up One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
+ New Defender 110 First Edition

Took a fused feed from battery to a switch panel fitted on rear of cubby box. Cable then in sleeve up side [hidden behind panel lips etc] and along roof base channel.
If you dont want to switch it on/off from drivers seat you can use an already fitted live feed behind n/s/r speaker housing and fit switch in rear somewhere close Smile Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

We will have a range of LED lights at Peterborough with a range of prices. Come and see for yourself the difference in light output.

Most manufacturers will tell you the power consumed by their lights or the current draw. However one of the important things with lights is the light output especially effective lumens. Also the overall light intensity, is it uniform or is it patchy.

Some of the manufacturers who give out such data includes Lightforce (ok not LED) Vision X who do a 10 watt single LED light with 900 lumens, Speaker of USA tends to give out such figures for most of their lights. Tim at Mobile Centre imports/distributes the Speaker lights and is a knowledgeable guy.

Some of the things you need to consider in selecting any light are range of light, use of light working, camping, driving etc. For a general camp light you might need wide angle, lower light output, limited range. For a work light you might want narrower angle, higher light output, larger range, whereas driving light you might want max light output and range. Do not choose your lights (like most gear) on price but consider what you want from the light.
