another update on the TFL saga:

85,000 views to the latest episode overnight and 500K on the previous and the comments would make the new JLR MD choke on his croissant.. Bad news spreads like wildfire especially in the US and this is a nightmare situation for LR press department. If they replace the 110 would the next one be any better?

Really sad that LR quality is towards the bottom of industry ranking.

Hard to believe LR aren’t all over this given the publicity their channel will generate.

TBH there’s nothing sad about it, they’ve known for at least 5 years that they need to up their game instead of their prices and have done next to nothing about it. Their corporate attitude to customers is terrible, they stick their head in the sand and hope that the problems will go away or that dealers will sort things out.
Same with accessories - just about every LR corporate video has shown cars weighed down with roof racks, raised intakes and extended wheel arches. They must have read how much people wanted this items after seeing them yet they blame C-19. It isn’t C-19, it’s because JLR underestimated demand even at the wallet numbing prices prices that they are charging for the parts.

One thing in the case above that surprises me is that it appears that the dealership hasn’t (or TFL hasn’t mentioned it yet) even offered a loan car of equivalent or higher value to the troublesome O’Neil keep them on the road or trails. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

One thing I’m pleased with in the New Defender’s engine room dept is it has an old fashioned dipstick.............. however the thing is hugely long and not easy to put back down the tube as it bends really easily. My last RRS and Evoque both had electronic oil level sensing and frequently would show a warning on the info screen advising that “communication with oil level sensor lost” which was very annoying as the only way to reset it was to switch off the engine, wait then restart and there was also no other way to check the oil level once you had pulled over and stopped. DIY oil changes were not made easy either with the electronic dipstick. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Firstly I’m amazed that someone went to the trouble of creating a video on an oil change. Secondly, that someone felt compelled to promote it. 🙄🙄

I'm wondering what Russian owners are going to do when they start to experience issues:

Shocked

Some Chinese customers of Jaguar Land Rover destroyed their cars too, forced JLR to dismiss their entire Chinese senior management team and start afresh a couple of years ago. I’m sure that there are YouTube videos linked to from this forum if you look back. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

What was useful was to see the state of the oil after only 5000 miles, if it was a diesel i could understand, but a petrol
with oil that colour after such a short period of time. provides a warning to petrol owners to change theirs far more
regularly than LR's recommended service intervals.. yet another pommie bar steward down under

Wouldn't be happy with the average main dealer changing that oil filter and letting all the rubbish sitting on the lip fall into the engine.

Someone needs to design a rubber plug to fit with the filter out and allowing a wipe down of the lip without any risk to the engine.

Gotta get those views! Not sure criticising the product your company depends on is good business sense, though.

If you read the comments about the over the air update on PowerfulUK’s P300 most folks had no problems with it, it even came to my car on my drive in an area with poor to no 4G and installed seamlessly- to the extent I had to go out this morning and check I hadn’t missed out on an update! But I hadn’t and it installed automatically. It would be nice to know what was updated though as I’ve had problems with the time displays reverting to UTC/GMT when we were on BSTif the data signal was lost and would like to know if that has been fixed with this update but I’ll have to wait until next spring now to see if that is fixed. At least the car’s clocks all changed when the clocks went back on Sunday morning! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
