3.5 hrs? If the ball will be replaced I think that is OK.
The problem is you never can say if it will be an easy job or that you have to fight every bolt. Personally as my labor doesn't cost anything, just time. I would probably only replace the seal after checking how the ball looks. The ball does not have to be 100% smooth but there should not be any holes through the shiny layer. Just a seal can be done in an hour I think. Hi Thanks for the reply. Garage confirmed that swivel, bearings and ball are OK. They have only to change the seals (cheap parts). What worries me is the 3.5 hours labour for one wheel. Do you think it’s excessive or that’s what it needs ?

I have had one seal replaced under warranty.
LR garage allowed 1.25 hours I think, and it looked like they replaced it as Blackwolf described. 3.5 hours is certainly excessive for changing one seal. |

If the total bill is €105 euro. I wouldn't complain to much.
The seal is about €20,- I guess and a bag grease €7-10,- That leaves €70 for labor. I don't think they will work 3 hours for that.
