In absence of funds for a set of Recaros, I was looking to put in something like the RX8 seats.
These come converted. And electric... https://www.edgegarage.co.uk/rx8-seat-conversions |

I also recovered the OE seats with the premium sport covers. Opted for the half leather XS style to match the rear seats. These retain the removable bases so ideal

Looks really nice hank, what’s your center console? Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Yes they are the original manufacturers 'premium' seat covers offered as a factory optional extra.
Both 'normal' seats and 'premium' seats have the same steel seat framework within. The premium seat cover kit is supplied as new foams with covers already attached, so you remove the original seat covers/foams from the steel framework, fit a headrest support bar and slide the new foams/covers on. It's a little fiddly and the base foams need some contact adhesive but pretty straightforward. The bases are more 'cupped' with raised side bolsters. Same with the backs, they're deeper due to the side wings (for want of a better word) so they offer more lateral restraint. They are also significantly more comfortable. The foams seem deeper, but perhaps my old foams were just worn out. Initially I fancied Recaro's but I wanted to retain a more OE appearance. Race.it it's an exmoor trim deep XS style one https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/ext015l-...etwin.html > 110 XS Double Cab |

Hank
Where did you get your genuine seat covers from. They look lovely. Or are they Exmore? |

They are OEM developments who I believe now trade under Defender71.com ?
But looking at their website I cannot see the DIY cover kits so you may need to contact them > 110 XS Double Cab |

I would do your research well - someone on another forum ordered a set of those and it didn't appear to end too well... |

Just trying to see how hard it is to install modify the rx8 seat rails into a defender? Ive seen some people welding and some people drilling and grinding. |
