Interior lighting
I am considering fitting one of these in the back of my 130 above the rear hatch https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/labcra...&_ss=r

quite £££ and yes i know its an external but it is a LR so will start leaking at some point.
A
Anyone tried one or have an alternative?

in the past i have used stick on LED strips from amazon, but they are not suitable in this application, primarily as i have no where to stick to them to! Cheers

I’ve got one of those on the outside, it’s a nice unit. On the inside I ran a string of LED fittings along the top of the side trim down each side of the boot. Like these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071KNS8BZ/ref...HFbGZ91Y36

It’s like daylight inside when they are on. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

great, thank you for the link, is the exterior one bright enough at 1280Lm?

also thinking these as cheaper alternative https://www.amazon.co.uk/MICTUNING-Car-Int...NS8BZ?th=1 but in my experience cheap LED units never seem to last long. Cheers

The Labcraft Exterior one is great for doing stuff in and around the back of the car, more than bright enough. I would say that the aluminium housing, the weatherproofness and price are a bit overkill for the interior though.

There's almost an unlimited selection of cheap interior LEDs on Amazon and Ebay. I just took the approach of buying something to try, if it wasn't any good it's cheap enough to get rid and try something else. As it turns out they performed way better than I expected and if anything got too much light inside. When I turn them off I can't see a thing to find my way back to the tent! The ones I had got hammered on the corrugations in Morocco and they all still work. I don't know if its true, but I get the feeling that COB LEDs are more robust than the SMD type. Certainly seem to get a nicer spread of light from COB ones. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

The problem is there is no sort of middle ground value option. You either go super cheap or really expensive.

What about the Labcraft Nebula? Slightly cheaper for interior use. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I fitted a cheap eBay strip light inside the rear of mine on some custom made brackets and it's literally brilliant.

It's been in place for two years now and whilst not used every day, it's proved reliable so far.

I bought a pack of two of these lights for about £10 (the other one went in my old 90 in a similar fashion), which buys an awful lot of Labcraft units. Darren

My 130 had a couple of cheapo12 inch led strip lights fitted while in service a few years back. Still going strong and easily bright enough.

I fitted 2 of these in 2016 and no complaints, they are extremely bright and light up the back of the 110 perfectly. From memory they were about £12 but Amazon seems to have inflated the cost since then. A friend has mounted one externally as a reversing light and that has held up well for 4 years or so and being plastic, there is no chance of corrosion on the housing Thumbs Up 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

Here you go, cheap as chips:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-72-LED-Inter...SwomVa4ZsP

Now that I look at the pictures again, I remember that I drilled a hole in the underside of the light and re-routed the cable to come out there instead of from the end. Darren
