If it helps, I got a similar quote for doing mine, albeit in Surrey not your neck of the woods.
They don’t need doing, it depends on whether you want them body coloured or not. Personally I think they look more factory when painted |

I coloured coded them myself, first time spray painting for me but they turned out great. If i can do it......

What colour are your sills? I think they really need to match in if possible.
My sills are black silk chequer plate, so I sprayed the extensions to match. If you do decide to paint them, it is very easy to get a good finish on an item that size using 'rattle' cans. Just make sure to use a quality plastic primer (rust-oleum works well). Click image to enlarge |
