So Merc have a recall on A-Class, B-Class, CLA, GLA & GLB as the oil-supply pipe on the turbocharger may leak.
Someone obviously asks the question "what about other models" and they go to look up the manufacturing records but don't find the paperwork. So they issue a further recall on multiple models - not because of a known issue on these models but just the lack of paperwork. ![]() Might of happened before but it's the 1st I've seen in recent years. ![]() Alert number: A12/01336/20 Category: Motor vehicles Product: Passenger car Brand: Mercedes-Benz Name: C-Class, CLS, E-Class, GLC, S-Class Type / number of model: Type-approval numbers: e1*2001/116*0431*42, 54-56; e1*2001/116*0501*42-43; e1*2007/46*1666*14-15; e1*2001/116*0480*33-38; e1*2007/46*1818*07, Types: 204, 212, R1EC, 204 X, R1ECLS Company recall code: 0993103 Production dates: The affected vehicles were manufactured between 5 March 2018 and 18 March 2020. Counterfeit: NO Risk type: Fire, Injuries Due to the lack of documentation, there is no confirmation that the screw connections of the turbocharger’s oil-supply and oil-return pipes were correctly executed during the assembly process. In the event of a loose screw connection, oil might leak at the oil-supply and/or oil-return pipe of the turbocharger. The leaking oil might then come into contact with hot components, increasing the risk of fire. / Measures taken by economic operators: Recall of the product from end users (By: Manufacturer) Description: Passenger cars with with a 4-cylinder petrol engine; Model series: BR 205, 213, 238, 222, 253, 257 Country of origin: Germany Alert submitted by: Germany Type of alert: Serious Products were found and measures were taken also in: Greece https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/consumers_s...amp;lng=en |

Big respect for that. Slightly confused though - W204 production ended in 2014 yet the 204 is listed in the recall for vehicles manufactured between 5 March 2018 and 18 March 2020
