Anyone with access to a workshop manual?
My car didn’t have one either but I bought this from my local Apple franchise store and I can move it from the house to the car as I like, it isn’t an elegant solution but it works for a fraction of the cost of the LR part. I plug it into the USB socket for the back seats leading the cable down between the seat and the cubby box. I rarely use Apple car Play but this way I can plug a white cable into the front USB to connect - I don’t know which method has priority for charging though, white cable to USB or Induction charger. It was when a family member had their induction charger plugged into the back and forgot to take it away after I dropped them off that I thought I would try it in the front. The phone does get quite warm regardless of whether it’s on the pad without connection to Apple Car Play or if it is connected to the front socket. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! Last edited by Tim in Scotland on 7th Oct 2020 1:00pm. Which is what I do for 90% of the time as I forget to take the induction pad out to the car! If the new Defender was able to do wireless CarPlay it might be worth having the wireless charging.

I bought one of these.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Non-Slip-Car-QI...Swbe1fdt6I Plugged into one of the rear USB ports and sits in the same place as the LR fitted one. Works perfectly. |

I don't think this is a retrofit option
It's more integrated than the previous wireless charger. This also has phone signal booster and is integrated in to the Pivi system for the charging icons Without stripping out the console you wouldn't know if it was prewired. I doubt it will be after the introduction of KSK harnesses a few years a go now |
