Did you order in black or silver colour? Just wondering if the price is the same?

Black, not sure silver would work on Pangea Green, and black goes with the black bar across the grille.I didn’t ask about the price if silver as the car came with black letters.

Out of curiosity- what benefit does the wrap do?

I am currently looking to get a New car correction detail and ceramic coat and have been quoted £370.

Obviously quite the price difference between what I’m reading here with a wrap?

Sorry if this is a novice question!

Black definitely looks much better. I didn’t opt in for “black pack” and looking to replace/paint with black once delivered.

[quote="Tim in Scotland"]Be aware that the guys doing mine aren’t sure yet if they will have to remove the DEFENDER letters on the bonnet......... pity that PowerfulUK hasn’t yet got a set on the go as my local dealer wants £85.83+VAT (£103 total) for the set, that’s £12.88 a letter! The reason for not being sure is that the production line doesn’t always stick them on to align with the window in the film panel that they cut from a downloaded pattern from X-Pel and it can be difficult to cut the film exactly around the letters if they are left in situ during the film application....... I’ve ordered up a set “just in case” so they can be stuck on the film afterwards if necessary

When Topaz PPFd mine they took the letters off, put the PPF on then put the same set of letters back on over the film. They used a template to get the spacing and alignment right. This is much better than cutting the film around the letters which, if your installers are cutting from a downloaded pattern, would result in a join somewhere between two pieces of film. They will be using a blotter to cut out the film, and there be no way to punch out the letters. I'd try and get them to take off the badge and put either the existing badge or your new letters over the top of the film - much cleaner this way.

@Tim. You could try to heat up the letters with a hair föhn and if they remove nicely ( it is a new car) put them on the backcover from any adhesive film, so you can reuse them.

I will try this with my new 90 in the first week... Going to spraypaint the bumpers and badges in Silicon silver Satin, as on X - or X dynamics.

At the moment that is the plan I’ve put to them, remove letters and apply film then replace the letters with the old or use my replacement set.

Defender_Enthusiast - the film and ceramic offer better protection from “bramblerash” or “pin stripping” by bushes and tree branches off road. Out of interest is the price you were quoted from the dealership supplying the car as part of a deal or from a 3rd party specialist, and what brand is being applied? The film takes the protection a bit further than just the ceramic coating as the film from some makers is to some extent self repairing. I would be very wary about the dealership doing the ceramic, generally they do it in house in a hurry with unskilled car washing teams. I’ve had Autoglymm, another brand, Gard-X and on the last 2 cars and thus one G-Techniq Serum. The Gard-X was applied at Gard-X UK HQ and after the G-Techniq it was streets ahead of the AutoGlymm Lifeshine or the other brand which were applied by the dealership “ valet” team and lasted about two years. The Gard-X and G-Techniq were still beading rain water 3 to 4 years after application with no top up treatment. They were also considerably more expensive than what you have been quoted. The detailer who applied the G-Techniq needed both my Mini Countryman and the Defender in their workshop for 4 days. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Bonnet badges aren’t on back order yet, ordered mine from the local dealers yesterday afternoon around 3pm (14:46 to be exact according to the invoice!) and at 0950 today I’ve just had a call saying that they have just arrived in the parts dept and are ready for collection!

Here’s what £103 buys you - Made in China buy Uighur slave labour? Why made in China, can Europe not produce them for the 20p it costs to make it in China?

Wrap will offer some level of impact and scratch protection that ceramic can't really offer. Some put ceramic on top of pdf to provide additional protection and ease of care.

Wow, I guess I got a deal when I ordered the factory satin wrap back in February for my NAS HSE. I was charged $3,800.00 for it, which seemed high but not much higher than what reputable local shops would charge. I see now that the price has mushroomed to nearly $5K. I am very happy with it, I actually ordered my silver because of the satin finish, otherwise I may have picked a different color. It feels great to the touch as well.

Here’s my car getting the full ppf treatment at Topaz. Slightly more expensive than the LR factory option, but covered the whole car including roof. Satin was extra though. So far the ppf is holding up perfectly-would highly recommend it especially if off roading.

A bit late for you Tim but powerful UK now have the black Defender lettering for £25, though it’s matt only at the moment.
