A pretty involved job, I'm in the process of doing the conversion with my 127 as part of a full rebuild (my vehicle was converted to a single cab at some point in its life).
I would suggest that finding the parts required may well be the biggest challenge, I've spent many hours and driven many miles collecting all the required parts. It's worth noting the following; - 110s and 130s share the same double cab but they command strong money. - 130 double cabs use a different B post assembly to 110s, they can be found but buying from YRM may be easiest. - The 2nd row floor and seatbox is a 130 specific assembly, they are pretty simple bits of ally so could be fabricated if required. - The 130 uses a shorter hi-cap tub than its 110 counterpart, finding a straight one can be difficult. - 2nd row doors aren't cheap especially if you want the later puma type. - You should be able to use the hi-cap rear bulkhead and rear window assy from your single cab but depending on the age of your vehicle you might need to repair the fixing points as they often suffer from electrolytic corrosion. I'd budget 3-5k (upper end of that if you want puma rear seats etc.) for the parts required, of course you'll get some of that back if you sell the single cab bits and you may well get lucky finding some parts. Buying a 130 double cab would undoubtedly be a lot easier but of course there are several reasons you may want to use yours as a basis. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |
