go for it!
I got my 110 done at 1 day old and the 130 is going in next week for limo tint on the rear doors and back end. Costing c£150 at a professional installer. You can do it yourself for less but it can be fiddly. Click image to enlarge |

Thanks and that looks very nice
I am thinking of a Medium Tint rather than Limo as my main objective is to keep the little one from toasting We have the standard factory privacy glass on our other car which is sufficient darkness and protection Defender D250 HSE Dender 110 XS - sadly gone VW Polo VW Caravelle - Gen 6 |

My kids are currently embarrassed about being dropped at school in a zebra striped 130 so have asked for full blackout capability

I had the rear windows on my 110 in limo to stop scrotes looking at any kit in the rear, rear doors in medium for sun protection and fronts left standard - no tint
they've stood up pretty well to all sorts of abrasion from being packed to the gunnels although on frequently opened windows I would think a 5 year life would be reasonable. HTH Keith |

If the main goal is to keep the little ones from toasting, why don't you go for removable sunshades instead?
When well made, from outside, they gives the same appearance as tinted windows. Plus if/when they start to fade away, or you want to change, you can just discard them easily. I spent some time before summer investigating the matter, and went for the premium ones from Laitovo https://laitovo.eu/en/catalog/cars/land_ro...nedorojnik They do sit perfectly flush with the window frames, they are made to fit, and the clip-holder system is much better than any sucking cup alternatives. Note that the "back vents" ones are in fact for the sliding windows, and benefit from being fitted with the optional clips on adhesive tape. Very happy with the result, keeping the ones on the sliding windows at all times, and the ones on 2nd row on ad hoc basis when kids ask for it. an option so thank you
can the kids still see out of them though - my youngest loves to peer out of the window when we go on longer drives the other 2 are glued to phones or ipads so nothing bothers them unless power dies Defender D250 HSE Dender 110 XS - sadly gone VW Polo VW Caravelle - Gen 6 |

Yes, they can see through, similar as medium tinted windows.

Any chance of some more pics of those - they look really good... What do they do for the rear door / quarterlights? I've got single piece rear windows instead of sliding ones (but the same shape, just solid glass), do you think they'd still fit ok? I had a dark tinted rear window in my old 90 - one issue was that you get reflections from oncoming cars in your rear view mirror which was a little annoying. Also if you have the sides too dark then reversing at night can be more difficult (eg backing out of a drive onto a road) as you can't see anything... |

For the rear door, you need to order what they call "Back window shade". However, they unfortunately don't have a product for the rear quarter windows. For the sliding windows, you need to order the "Back vents", and they sit on the interior trim if you use the additional clips with adhesive tape as I did, so it doesn't matter if you have single piece windows. And, for the middle row (in a 110), you need to order the "Rear side". Maybe best to go for the full rear set, which includes all of the above. Make sure you select the premium version, as I've been told the cheap version is not up to it.
I will try to get more pics when/if the sun comes out tomorrow. /Mat PS: I have no relation or interest whatsoever with Laitovo |

If you're in Winchester and want to get your Landies windows tinted I'd strongly recommend you call this company hampshirewindowtinting.com. Had mine done a couple of years and you can't tell they're not factory fitted.....
Don't go for the limo tint - very drug dealer like!!! Harry |
