2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Fuji White

Alternator Alternatives

Gents, I am thinking of going for an uprated Alternator that has more juice. I would be moving to a dual battery system with one battery dedicated for accessories and one for starter. With an option to switch batteries (stating the obvious here

). Any suggestions on how and what to choose for the alternator? Any pointers on where I can get(buy) a suitable alternator would also be appreciated!

P. S pros and cons of doing this is also appreciated.

I assume that this is for the 2.4 Puma in your signature.

I have seen vehicles built for utility companies by LR SVO which have a second alternator mounted in place of the a/c compressor on the 2.4 engine (I imagine that the 2.2 could be similarly modified), unfortunately I have never seen a parts list for this adaptation.

Those I have seen are quite simple and use relatively few parts, and appear properly engineered for the purpose.

Yes it is a 2.4 TDCI
