2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
kin-normous plastic bag or wrap required ...
I have a roof box that no one wants to buy, so I need to store it outside. It's in really good condition, so i figured i could store it around the side of the house.

I would like to wrap it up in cling film or get an enormous plastic bag to seal it. the roof box is about 2.3metres long and about 60x40cms ...

where can I get big cling film ?
where could I get a huge plastic bag?

any other ideas ?

cheers
bp

I would use stretch wrap as it is used to wrap goods onto pallets.

Or next time you see a delivery wagon ask the driver if he has any going spare Whistle

thanks guys ...

AndrewS - thanks for the offer, the size is 60cm x 45cm x 240cm

I plan to store it horizontally on some large blocks, so the end needs to be sealable and as heavy duty as possible

cheers

Get a brick bag the ones that go on the big packs or ask a local farmer for some wrap they use to go round haylage bails.

Mmm theres a thought but would be the other way around, 4.8m Kayak, 2.4m roof box Shocked How about a Kayak that could also be used as a roofbox - this time next year Rodney....... Wink

Why does it have to be sealed? Can't you just wrap a small tarpaulin around it Confused Or cling film the edge if sealing is needed then bung a tarp over it!

Perhaps a cover made from light timber and some plastic sheets, sort of like a cold frame for plants might be more practicable, especially if you want to use it occasionally, with some timber to keep it off the ground. Should be well enough sheltered especially if it is around the side of the house.
Zag, I am surprised you have not come up with something like the Nakatenanga glovebox for the Puma dash, for the kayak.A well fitting hinged lid on the Kayak would make it an exceedingly good storage unit for the Puma. Besides, look at the aerodynamics of it. Zag get measuring, cutting. fitting etc. Let us know how you get on. Rolling with laughter 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

This is a good idea Spudfan Shocked The kayak can take 240KG in weight altogether whilst it's only 27KG in weight itself AND It has two large storage lids for putting your stuff inside Very Happy

It could be the the roof box present that just keeps on giving Laughing Available from a store near you soon Wink
