I'm thinking the A bar would work if I had a set of Boosts fitted but been as I'm happy with the Wolfs on there now, I'll probably take it off and see what we can do with it later down the line Alex

I've just been on Topix to double check because I checked the colour before, under the bonnet IIRC and I bought a touch up pen in Galway Green.
Although thanks for the heads up, I've now found out its Aintree Green Good job I never got round to touching it up! Alex 2013 2.2 TDCi Puma Hard Top https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72473.html |

Hi Alex,
I wasn't so sure after checking some pictures of Galway, hence the edit on my post. But if you've checked and it is Aintree then it must be. |

I had a phase of that, bolting stuff on that wasn't really necessary. In the end I took it off and sold it. I do have some pics of your truck if you would like them? 2011 110 USW

This weekend I needed to finish off the remaining bits of soundproofing that I hadn't already done and I started by looking behind the dash and the footwell carpet and decided to do as best as I could and take the dash out.
Couldn't do it Saturday as I went to Caffeine and Machine which was good to see the various Defenders on show Click image to enlarge So Sunday I took the dash out which was an interesting job, although I was surprised by the amount of dirt behind there. Cleaned it all out and I've ordered some closed cell foam and Silent Coat to stick on the bulkhead which should be here this week. Forgot to take a photo before I cleaned it but never mind, managed to get some after photos. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge The heater matrix decals aren't in the best condition so could do with changing it, does anyone know the part no. or where I can find one? The part I need is below but can only find one in white, can't seem to find the black one? Any help appreciated. A long overdue update to the 110...
After finding out I had the HD springs, I've changed the springs and shocks for genuine Land Rover white/green/green and the difference is night and day. My budget didn't stretch the Fox dampers so they're standard items. I had water in the back which I was trying to track down until I found it was coming through the seal between the tub and body, meaning a new seal was ordered that I thought was genuine. After having a few issues getting the old seal out and gently raising the body up, I put the new seal in to find it was much narrower than the original. After researching into it, I found YRM do a much better alternative so if anyone is thinking of changing theirs, take a look at YRM. Click image to enlarge In order to change the seal, I took the rear wheel off the door and noticed some damage to the rear door which might be the reason the door isn't quite true when it's closed. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I thought this was just down to the weight of the wheel on the back door but the more I look at it the more I think it's because the previous owner has reversed into something with the wheel on the door. I'm looking into spare wheel carriers so have done many a search on here. Some good reviews for ORE so ideally I'd be fitting one of those but with work on the house on the go at the same time, I'll have to see depending on funds which one to go for. With the maintenance sorted first, I've been able to get on with the back of the Defender to turn it into the camper I was originally planning.
The rear was insulated and sound proofed using foil backed insulation, closed cell foam and silent coat and then ply lined which meant I could start fitting it out. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge In between this, I fitted a diesel heater which I thought would be essential as the majority of it's use will be in the UK. I've read many threads on here about it but for people that've fitted the auxiliary tank rather than into the main tank, where have you fitted yours? I've got mine behind the drivers seat at the minute whilst I was testing it out but I'm not sure where to fit the permanent solution... And over the course of evenings and weekends, I've been fitting the bed/seat in the back that folds up when not in use. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I'd originally made it to slide out so that it was permanently in use as a chair but changed my mind once it was fitted it now works if I ever need to put something into the back And finally, fitting the work top, shelf and cupboard, mainly out of timber and a Blue Sea 12V fuse box that I'll be using to wire the lights and USB sockets etc in. I've not got a better photo of it, but I've fitted a switch panel to control the lights and to give a couple of USB sockets for charging phones etc. Click image to enlarge Alex 2013 2.2 TDCi Puma Hard Top https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72473.html |
