reason for double cardan prop shafts
DC shaft make sense if there was a lift on vehicle and increased articulation modification (longer lift shockers and suspension springs). Otherwise there is no need at all. In particular, if the vehicle is used almost exclusively on bitumen and say for towing on standard roads. Maybe you should reconsider your decision if that is your typical usage of your vehicle. In my view it is waste of effort and money. Good luck.

I understand the mechanics of it blackwolf, I believe for the ops stated use on std vehicle it's not required. There is no mention of vibration being an issue, just a worn uj. Lr thought it ok in their wisdom and there are thousands out there with no issues. Yes it can be improved, and yes it's not engr brilliant, but it works for 99% of people 99% of the time. So save the money.

A lifted vehicle greater than 35mm on a puma, yes I see that now as a requirement, for a puma. Cheers

The only downside I can see is the cost.
I presume the UJ’s the same to remove / replace or possibly easier?
I know the size of the UJ cups is different to factory.

The factory props are a pain in the backside to do. But mine are perfect now with the GKN UJ’s.

Is there a reason why the driveline angle is the way it is on the Puma it was it just the engine and gearbox type that was built in such a way that it fitting in that way.
LR must have thought it was in tolerance levels that were acceptable. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

I really was with you until you mentioned this...

Engineering wisdom appears to have played second or even third fiddle behind the design and finance teams on the Defender for many a moon.

For what though? I'm guessing many on here have spent far too much money on a single "upgrade" if you try and quantify it in terms of some sort of objective economic payback. Sometimes it's worth it just knowing it's there and being able to appreciate the intrinsic engineering behind the part.

I have a QT Services one on the front of a 110, it does make a difference in terms vibration and the drive train is smoother. Would i buy one again, well as the original prop had worn a flange i thought i would try 'an upgrade' and I would do so again.

I have the gywn Lewis ones on mine and they’ve been fine.
I have a 2inch lift and I was always changing u/js
The u/js have lasted well, but that might be because I grease them 3 or 4 times a year now.
No vibrations at all.
