Monty Halls new Defender!
I'm enjoying watching Monty's new programme in Ireland - especially seeing his black, 2010, 110 Defender Very Happy Wonder if he wants it Zagged Whistle Didn't he knacker the diff lock in his old Td5 by leaving it on Whistle He admits he's not practical Sad but that's what makes it more amusing - shame he dug a hole in the front of his RIB whilst towing though Rolling Eyes It's a timely reminder why I gave up trailer sailing. Just found out he went to the same school as me, he's a year younger than me but I don't remember him - Ex marine and super fit so I doubt I bullied him Laughing

I have to say that I am rather jealous of Monty Halls touring around Ireland in his lovely Defender. It looks idyllic. Maybe I will be lucky enough to have a job like that one day . . . 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Nice guy met him before a book signing he was doing in Winchester after his first series, did not recognise the man at first of course but clocked the TD5 and Black Lab straight away as he was parking up at the back of Waterstones where we were taking a crane down. Compleatley cool guy.
Have only seen the 1st of the new series but have it on sky+ and will catch up when i am home in Devon over the Bank Hliday weekend. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

The place he stayed at in his first series isn't what it was, it's now pretty busy as a result of the programme Sad Must admit I would love to be their also Whistle or just a trip to Scotland would do Very Happy

"The one-off vehicle has been specially modified to provide transport for his diving and film crew, as well as serving as a mobile basecamp and dive centre in remote, off-road locations. The vehicle is packed with clever engineering and design solutions including bespoke storage for diving air tanks, a water tank and hosing facility for cleaning kit, a sliding table strong enough to bear up to 200kg and an awning to give protection from the elements - all invaluable during the expedition."

He's a Land Rover global ambassador so will be interesting to see what vehicle he replaces it with?
