Covid is being used as a broad brush excuse for lot's of things, seems courtesy cars are now on the list!.
We got one from BMW when our X4 went in for recall work - they just sanitised it before we got it. Rgds. Chris |

My previous experience with loaners is that if you take the car back to a dealership other than the outlet you purchased from you go right to the end of the list of those waiting for a loaner, those buying from the dealership where you are taking the car will have priority. That was before C-19.
When I booked my new one in for the fitting of the new A pillar trim and to have the recovery eyes fitted, before I even asked the receptionist told me that they had no courtesy cars available until late October/ early November and they have stopped running courtesy transport to the station/ bus station due to C-19 as well, so instead I have to use my bus pass and travel home on the buses - 2hr 30mins instead of 20 minutes by car because the schedules for buses from town to our village don’t match up with services around town. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! Last edited by Tim in Scotland on 13th Sep 2020 1:26pm. Don’t see the difference between getting a loaner and a test drive, both have to be sanitised. Just a dealer excuse.
Would your dealer be Taggarts by any chance? |

But you didn’t purchase the car from them....… so they don’t think you are a good enough client to let have one of their courtesy cars that could be loaned to someone who did buy a car from them.... I didn't buy my car from Pentland Dundee (Cupar still open at the time) but they gave me a loan car without hesitation.

I didn't buy my last two JLR vehicles from my local dealer but have had no problems with loan cars since the Covid-19 outbreak. I last had a loan car three weeks ago. Defender 90XS SW

I've got lots of LR products from various dealers. Always get a LR loan car from any dealer regardless of purchase dealer. No issues with Covid. 130's have feeling's as well you know

Same, always get an equivalent size car too - it’s on my customer care notes so I get either a d5 or ffrr when it’s in. First service for current one just gone on 1st sept they Called prior asking if a would prefer to try a defender over a ffrr for the day. Sounds like dealers are taking the pee. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

When we did the 3 hr test drive of the Defender the sales lady just used a baby wipe to wipe over the door handles and internal contact points.
Hardly the deep clean they were implying on the website. Even when we got back and handed the keys back she walked out with us with her baby wipes to do the same again. Not exactly a trained individual in a hazmat suit and something resembling a weed killer pack on their back. Covid excuses are more contagious than the actual virus..... |

First time mine was to go back (to the dealer I bought from) I was told it would be a 2-3 week delay if I wanted a loan car.
