all lights up but the heat part on the hot/cold selector does not is this normal for the pumas or do I possibly have a bulb out behind the dash?

Tried to take a photo but the camera does good night photos so kind of spoils it and looks better than it is Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

Highly likely that you have a bulb out. There are many bulbs, together with fibre-optic pipes lighting that lot up, and they are the very small capless bulbs famous for their unreliability. They are also extremely fiddly to replace.

If you go LED like I have make sure it’s the multi directional SMD chip type and not a dome style LED as these are too directional.

They’ll last wayyyyyy longer than the standard light bulbs. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Does your center panel now look more white than green? Just curious. I tried green domed ones and as custom90steve said, too directional and wasn't happy with them so I replaced with the proper bulbs for now.

If these are OK, I'll probably consider a set plus a few spares for my truck.

Can you post photos of them activated in the dark?

Thanks, custom90steve! Thumbs Up

Will place an order as soon as I get some bigger items sorted. I just replaced with bulbs for now so still good.

👍🏻 There are a few reflections there as my dash is gloss black right now but they work well and look a pretty even light spread compared to the directional LED’s.

To be honest I’d rather have a touch of uneven light spread than the unreliable bulbs, it’s such a pain if you have one go.
And they aren’t that reliable. I even had the one in the clock go recently, that was a pain in its self and sadly there isn’t an LED replacement for that as it doesn’t work for that. Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

My fan speed has gone dark - if I'm going to the effort to open it up I'm thinking I might as well replace others with the LEDs whilst there (so they match)... Anyone know how many of these I would need?
