12S Socket
Hi folks,

Is there a plug-in kit for a 12S socket for a Defender, in the same way that there is for Discoverys and Freelanders? Darren

yes, Land Rover sell them for about £80, or there are aftermarket ones available too.

I recently bought a genuine one and they have improved the weatherproofing by filling the back of the socket with a type of silicone gloop, not sure if britpart ones have this ?

After a bit of searching, it looks like the full caravan friendly kit for a TD5 110 is part no. STC50324, which is an eye-watering £160 Shocked Looks like I'll be making my own Rolling Eyes

Yeah, thanks Laurie. That's probably what I'll use as the basis of it. If I put it together myself, I'll take the opportunity to fit a 13 pin socket, too.

I was interested in a Land Rover kit as my experience with them in the past on DII's is that they are very nicely engineered and are largely 'plug and play', but the cost is extortionate. Darren
