Have they had a re-design?

Strangely, I spotted this a couple of weeks ago, parks here all the time and somebody’s ‘daily’!

I have used them quite extensively, they are generally superior to a LR off road, but need a certain amount of confidence from the driver as they do not feel as secure.
The portals and diff-locks allow them to go a lot further before getting stuck, but then they take a LOT more unsticking! The real problem was the central tubes cracked and rendered every single one we had inoperative at some time, these are VERY expensive vehicles and not as robust as they should be for the cash. They are capable off road and will leave any standard 4x4 for dead in almost all off road situations, though they have a tendency to tip over the front wheels on steep descents( don’t ask). 80" 1948 Lightweight V8 Bowler Tomcat 130 Station wagon 90 300tdi (Santana PS10 pick up) Range Rover L322 (Ful fat) |

Project Mantis ~ I like the look of the central tubular drivetrain/chassis. |
