Licence photo
Does anyone have a recommendation for obtaining a correct spec driving licence photo at the moment?
I would normally use one of the photo booths in shops / retail centres normally but that isn't really practical currently.
The DVLA has put a temporary 7 month extension on licence renewal beyond expiry date but really needs doing sooner rather than later regardless of this.

I believe there are Apps and sites that do this around, but I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations?
I'm using the "D1" paper pack which needs an actual photo, they sent this upon my request which was good.

Recommendations welcome if anyone has any ideas. Thumbs Up [/list] ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Have you got a passport? The photo on that can be linked.

No, that’s the factor that’s the issue and probably why they allowed the renewal extension.
Normally isn’t an issue at all normally. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Same issue myself (no passport - I don't get out much LOL).

Automatic 11 month extensions for licences due for renewal between 1 Feb 2020 and 31 December 2020 apparently.

I am going to use an on line service, maybe this one -

Had to get a photo for my shotgun renewal a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't very happy doing it, but I got that done in a Photome booth in a local Tesco's. They just asked that you sit in the machine whilst waiting for the photos to be ejected.

As long as you go in the shop booted and suited, I'm sure the machines are still working.

Goes without saying, DVLA will be less than impressed if you leave your mask on Rolling with laughter

I went in about 8.30pm when it was quiet and there wasn't many people about. The photos were awful. But it did the job.

I've used www.paspic.com many times in the past for kids' passport photos - which has now gone digital - but great service and accepted by HMPO every time.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

My wife has had to do this ( she has not got a passport either ) and she went into our local photographic shop, we have been going there for years, when it first opened, she said it was all good with all things related to cov-19, i was surprised when she had gone in as she has not been in shop since March Shocked 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Thank you for the suggestions, really helpful.
There isn’t a rush, but like some of you have mentioned it’s best to be done all the same when possible as it’s w bit of an uneasy feeling knowing it should be done.

Currently not really going to the shops at all really, so that’s why I was wondering if there was a digital option like Martin and other suggested.

I’ll look into those mentioned.

If you have a reasonable printer and some basic photo printing software you could take and print a photo at home.
That's what I did recently or my son's first driving licence.

I took a head and shoulders photo of him stood with his back against a white emulsion wall following the guidance notes on photo requirements that I think came with the application form.
Then I cropped it using the software that came with my HP printer to fit in the required size of a passport photo. There was already a frame template in the software for passport sized photos. After that I printed it out on some Photo Inkjet paper, cut it to size and posted it off with the form.

The photo was accepted and his licence came back within a couple of weeks.

As above took the photo at home but you have o be careful of any shadows when stood against a wall. Staff at Post Office said it may be rejected but passport office accepted it OK. Jeff

I had to have only for my Disabled badge, went to the Photome at the local Tesco, they sent all the photos to me by email and a separate email with a clickable link to put on the renewal form. You normally have to sit for the photo but this time it was taken standing and the bloke taking it stood on a small step. Don't make old people mad.

so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Surely it doesn't need printing? I just took a photo with a phone and used that.

Only problem, if you're white and have grey hair, it complains about the lack of colour! Big Cry

We had to send in an actual photo with my son's application. A digital version was not allowed. Seem to recall having to peel off a backing on the form to reveal a clear sticky window onto which the photo had to be placed.

Some private photographers can do it for you.

I went down that route last time because I got fed up with looking like a washed out criminal...... Laughing
