they do a 140 hp 2.2 so plenty of parts available to boost performance personally i like the 3.2 , 200 hp engine! |

The 2.2 has been avalible since 2006 in the Fiat ducato and citreon relays there not a bad engine just eat egr valves and they seem to go well but they are 2wd and in a van

'The substantial improvements to the Defender in 2007 transformed its on-road refinement and comfort - They obviously haven't driven mine then !!!!!!! Crappy - horrendous 2nd gearbox .. noisy rattly engine ... worst defender I've owned in 20 years !!!!! spent 20 years fixing them ... the dealers just wont listen !!!! |

I have the 3.2 in my van and it's a fantastic beast! Dont think my 2.4 will quite be the same when it arrives... |

if a TD5 fits under a defender bonnet the tdci 5 cyinder will. WHO wil be the first to do it! |

Mine too, couldn't agree more!! Very poor synchromesh, an inordinate level of backlash and transmission rattle. Still, not to worry, according to Land Rover "everything is within specification sir". |

Is it s straight swap ? Remove the 2.4 and fit the 3.2 ? Can it be done just like that ? 2.2's are 61 plate on you can't order a 2.4 now thats why mine is going to do this winter then i am going for a March 12 plate swap If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.
