"left behind their get away vehicle" .....then why weren't the police able to capture them then?!

Surely that is the (stolen) vehicle they use to enable the vehicle (LR) theft and they got away in their actual (clean) get away vehicle, otherwise that is more than a bit embarrassing for the dog unit/police helicopter given that they are looking for warm bodies in the cover of a corn field supposedly at close proximity!
