reverse light
Hi, does anyone know if the reverse light feed is fed to the 13 pin towing socket wiring harness if I was to change from 7 pin?

I have a 2015 Puma 90

Yes it's on the 9 pin plug on the loom for the trailer socket Thumbs Up  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I was looking on the reverse lamps wiring. I cant find it at all...do you have link? very puzzling!

many thanks. very interesting... That doesnt show on the diagrams I have but mine are from 2012. Are there later diagrams at all? Was there a change to the wiring on later Puma models? Bow down 2015 90 XS Santorini Black

The set of 2012 diagrams I have doesn't have it either, but the 2012 electrical library (connector view list) does have the GN wire on C0376 pin 22.

So I think the 2012 diagrams may be missing some pages or LR made a mistake creating them!

The joint SJ49 splits the reverse lamp feed 3 ways (lamp, trailer, instrument pack), but they aren't normally shown in full on every page.

I don't think there are changes regarding the trailer wiring between the 2012 and last off the line.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Thanks Martin. I was sure i was losing the plot there! Thumbs Up The info is great as i am currently installing a NATO power socket to the rear crossmember and want to include the reverse circuit using the spare cables in the NATO Trailer cable. The Penman has a spare hole to fit the standard Defender reverse lamp. Cheers 2015 90 XS Santorini Black

Interesting, Martin. Did you draw the above diagram yourself or is it pre-2012?

Side note for international readers, if you want to tap into these wires:
while the electric reference library shows both LH and RH looms, the wirings diagrams only show either. For the English version of the document it says "(LHD)" on the title page, while the German 2015 doc I downloaded from Topix doesn't mention that (it's LHD, of course). There's just an add on "(1a)", which seems to be "(1b)" for RHD.

I only noticed this when I compared your diagram with the files I have. Pin 21 for RHD is pin 8 for LHD.

It's 2015MY, right hand drive - labelled (1a) though so that's not the marker for LHD/RHD.

That's interesting about the swapped pins, this is because the fog and reverse lamps are swapped at the back between RHD and LHD.

C0376-8 is Fog RHD and Reverse LHD
C0376-9 is Trailer Fog (all)
C0376-21 is Reverse RHD and Fog LHD
C0376-22 is Trailer Reverse (all) - tough to find on diagrams!

So the main bulkhead loom is different between LHD and RHD, feeding fog and reverse to opposite pins.

This means the chassis/rear loom can be the same, and also explains the use of WHITE and SLATE wires in the chassis loom rather than the standard colours. WHITE is reverse (RHD) but fog (LHD), SLATE is fog (RHD) and reverse (LHD).  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
