Andrew, thanks for posting.
I have been following their builds with interest but I'd love to know how they drive. Are you allowed to tell us anything? Also is that the 90 in Selfridges? WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

It's a lot of money but compared to a Twisted LS3 an absolute bargain. That's how I'm going to try and sell it to the boss anyway. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

Unfortunately I cant comment on how it drives. I can say Its very heavy, the engine bay is full of batteries as is the fuel tank area and the rear floor is raised by about 150mm to house more batteries. The Tesla drive unit is located longitudinal where the original gearbox/transfer box was located. Modified propshafts take the drive from the Tesla unit to the up-rated Land Rover axles. The vehicle is lowered. Yes its the 90 at Selfridges. 130's have feeling's as well you know Last edited by AndrewS on 19th Aug 2020 9:45pm. Edited 1 time in total |

That's a shame but I completely understand. I look forward to reading the reviews when they drop. WARNING.

Or you could just look up the latest figures from Ofgem, and yes offshore wind in particular has huge investment: UK energy production Q1 2020: Fossil fuels (coal & oil 3.28%, gas 26.75%) - so 30% Nuclear 11.9% Renewables (Hydro 2.28%, Wind & Solar 41.14%, Bio energy 8.81, pumped storage 1.59%) - 54% Other (including imports, some of which from renewables) - 5.8% |

Twisted also do EV now starting IIRC at around £69k.
I agree prices are just too high at the moment, but it will come down in time, I hope. I commented just this morning on London Electric Cars instagram, they have converted a genuine 1985 V8 Ninety to full electric, but kept the V8 sticker, sacrilege . I commented it felt a little sad, only for the owner to reply "it was a tough decision but environment winds over sentiment" can't really argue with that... can you? Tesla motors are expensive because there's more demand than crashed Teslas, and Tesla don't like selling parts (see YT channel Rich rebuilds)
Plus they're making a premium vehicle, not some crusty farm hack, which bumps the price up even more. That's a business decision to rinse as much profit out of the limited EV parts that are available. I would say a high price on an EV conversion is justifiable right now. |

Thanks Ads90
at this point in time how do you know where your energy comes from? Is it the combined energies that you have mentioned or is this just available in certain areas so for instance is energy at any given persons house the product of all the combined energy sources?? |

For a near real-time snapshot of where the grid energy is coming form, check here:
https://electricinsights.co.uk/#/dashboard?&_k=itywrc Right now over 51% is coming from wind! Because it’s a grid, it’s input comes from all these sources so we’re getting the mix of inputs described. (Obviously if you generate your own electricity, there will be times when your own house is not drawing from the grid, and times when you are adding to the grid). The swing from fossil to renewable in the uk has been surprisingly rapid over recent years. In 2015 there were still 14 coal power stations producing, now only 4, with those hardly used & expected to close in the next couple of years. |
