Anyway, this is my plan... Fit the following amp, powering 2 speakers and 1 sub (bridge channel b for the sub) JL audio JX400/4D Now i might as well get some new speakers while im at it, there are 2 options im looking at both very similar |

Fitting 6.5" speakers in the rear is a good fit, and superior sound without sacrificing any space.
I have been making and selling these panels to fit standard and Puma trucks for a few years now. Easily fits and supports the weight of 6.5" speakers, and sounds far superior to having speakers down in front of the tail light covers. Looks stock, no ugly big boxes, can be upholstered in grey, black or Genuine Ripple Grey headliner. Getting a web page is on my list of things to do, and I need to get it done sooner than later!
I have been passing on information to prospective clients as enquiries come in. The kit consists of the panel and 2 speaker bezels that mount to the upper rear onto 4 stock mounting points. Either Pre-Puma and Puma models are available with a choice of upholstery. This creates a nice enclosure, and being made from birch ply, is very solid. These are all hand built, and professionally upholstered and come with all the mounting hardware and install instructions. Custom shipping boxes and OCD packaging. Yes,... all needs to get onto a web page. Feel free to PM if interested. I am working on shipping / distribution solutions to get these to the UK. I have only been selling them tin the US and Canada thus far. I always have liked those.
Only thing that concerns me is Tax, lower value items are charged at VAT rate and a handling charge. Fairly used to that, but I think over a certain value there are other fees involved again which ramps up the cost considerably. A lot will change though, I would suggest Devon 4x4 possibly may be of interest regarding stock and or shipping. I know they do deal with US companies, possibly Canada too and some kind of bulk shipping maybe an option. Simon and Liz are always good to deal with I’ve found. Great item, well thought out and quality so I definitely would see what you can do. 👍🏻 $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Thanks for the advice and the kind words Custom Steve. I have put a lot of time into developing these, and they are really the best solution I have seen. Hopefully if I can get something worked out for the UK, that will allow me to bring up the production numbers and become more cost effective.
From what I am seeing it's 20% VAT (must be hard to live that every day) and 2.5% duty for goods imported between £135 and £630. Is that was you were thinking were the applicable taxes? I would be interested to know how much interest there would be if it were available there, and what price range would be expected? I know it's not for everyone, it's a high-end audio item, but there are buyers out there that want that solution. it's a Landrover thing... my renovation thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40792.html |

Stay tuned... I am working on bringing these to the UK and Europe. I will be happening, for certain.
Again, the more interest there is, the more I can ship at once for distribution which helps reduce the shipping cost on each individual panel. So, if you are interested, or know someone that is, please let me know. it's a Landrover thing... my renovation thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40792.html |
