I have owned my TD5 90 for 18 years bought as an x demo. 100k miles later no problems! It was originally bought because when we had child number four we did not have a car big enough for all of us to go out! 18 years later I am now trying to buy a TD5 110 to share with one of my sons. We have looked at quite a few and there are some real rouges out there but nothing to match my 90. Any ideas would be appreciated on sourcing a honest 110 to continue the family tradition. Here is a picture of my 90, sorry covered in Dorset mud as always.

The good TD5 110's are around £15,000 if you want the Station Wagon or XS version with 9 seats.
REALLY good ones turn up from time to time. Recently there was a 24,000 miles 110 TD5 CSW and it was as good as it gets, garaged overnight, not used in rain (!) it was pretty much perfect. lt sold for £21,000. l looked at a few 110's this Summer and good ones are out there if you persevere, Budget £15-18,000 |

I’m an another loser that looks at eBay and autotrader, even though I’m not planning to buy anything.
If I start at the cheapest and work my way up , I’m well into a 5 figure sum before if find anything that I would fancy owning. They’ll soon be so valuable that it won’t be worth taking them off road😧😧 2002 td5 90 county hardtop |

Why would you have one if you don't take it off-road? Roel

😀good question.
I bet over half never go further than a dirt road these days. When I started going to the local pay and play the majority of cars were Defenders. When it shut 5 years ago I would guess it was down to about 30%. It was mainly D1s and Suzukis. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop |

My wife told me to buy a 90 as an off-road toy as she didn't like that I used my D3 to play off-road with.
My CT disco1 I used heavily off-road and was my daily driver. So in the 10 years I had the D3 my 90 was mostly used off-road and sometimes I used it to go to work with. However now my D3 is gone my 90 is promoted to my toy, company car, holiday car and shopping trolley. If I wouldn't drive off-road I would probably have a D3 commercial. I finally got myself a Td5 a couple of years ago after looking on ebay and Autotrader for quite a while. Then I looked at Gumtree and found the prices on there didn't seem as inflated. Seemed more like farmers etc. selling rather than LR enthusiasts. Just a suggestion of somewhere else to look

Also prices seem cheaper in the South, and on Auto Trader
Ebay seems to be populated by chancers trying their luck at high prices. l've got a friend who owns a TD5 90 XS and he's put it on Ebay at a silly price, it's not really for sale, but he'd sell it at the price he's listed it for. As the advert is only £20 he's happy to have it sitting there waiting for someone with money to burn. |

Can you send a link to the 90 on eBay?
Also, does anyone know what eBay charges when you sell a car? I sell lots of non car-related things and they usually hit you with around 10-11% of the selling price as a fee, unless you list during a low fee period. |

Ebay don't charge when you sell a car, just the upfront £20 or so for the classified ad

Looks like there is a final value fee but it's capped at 45 notes: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-c...es?id=4127 |

Agreed Procta!
Not sure if the ones on Ebay/Autotrader ever fetch that money but they have definitely gone up. Instagram - @Land_Rover_Defender |
