Yup, and so are Heinz Beans and Stella Artois. But you wouldn't put them in a blender and try and sell the resulting mess as the next big culinary adventure.

Never a truer word!!!!..... Gauging your reactions the penultimate sentence of the article is absolutely 'bang on!!!' "He believes that whatever solution Land Rover finally picks, ‘it won’t please everyone’, because with so many fans and opinions it will be difficult to avoid disappointing some." We will undoubtedly bleat as loud and be just as critical and vociferous when the new one is launched as TD5 owners were on the launch of the Puma and TDI owners before that and .........! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Very true, but they've never been the same since they moved the headlamps into the wings and stuck a plastic grille in between. Besides, the real unanswered question is 200 or 300Tdi?  Steve.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

That's barely a nod to the Defender's past - looks too much like the other LR products on offer. The new model should be more square in shape than round. Surely the right look to satisfy traditional Defender owners and bring in new ones would simply be a better finished, slightly more modern take on the current shape - like an accessibly priced GWagen.
