I purchased the unit from JLR. I also wish it was CarPlay compatible. The navigation doesn't work for Costa Rica, so for me the unit as limited use but the hands-free and bluetooth integration is pretty good.

I think beyond the LR logo on the fascia, is that on car start-up, the Land Rover oval logo appears in color on the screen.
I think if you purchased a Porsche branded one, you would get that logo on the start-up screen and don't see anything in the controls to remove that.

MCMA1, you gave a PM about a Becker system I gave in my loft from a Freelander1 Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Becker Indianapolis pro and cascade pro are really good head units with phone nav and iPhone connection.

As expensive now or more than when new.

Only issue really is no DAB, and maps cannot be updated beyond 2014 or so.

But hey, D4 nav cannot be updated past 2018 when they were still in warranty....

2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

Im am looking for a new single head unit ideally with CarPlay after my classic Alpine has died after 10yrs of service. The new bespoke items do look good but are very expensive.
I have found that Pioneer do a single DIN motorised screen unit with CarPlay circa £550.
I have looked at the JVC unit sold by Mudstuff, albeit with no CarPlay but looks ok for the money and is recommended within other threads on the forum.

I have the JVC single din from Mud and with my new birthday focal speakers it’s bang on. I don’t think it has car play but it’s not something I’m bothered about...I do have a reversing camera though and no ugly screens anywhere
