There’s protrtypes then there’s the cars built at Coventry at Pilot ops, then there’s production built wherever.

You might have a built in Britain version?.

Really?? Having had convo's with execs at local Nissan plant as well as some corporate rally guys then all insisted that no sales could occur as they would 'lose' the tax write off benefits that were worth many hundreds of thousands on a single car......

And so you think any company is going to forgo the tax benefits from scrapping their prototypes just because the outlay is large??

I see similar figures but never a breakdown and "up to" suggests you can gold plate everything.

JLR's average investment over the last few years must average out to maybe £2.5 billion (a guess) across all models and other items.

If each department got just a single development mule, and there were 10 departments, each with a £5 million budget to verify their elements, then that would be £50 million to potentially claim back. More mules bigger claim. Given JLR currently have projects looking for £50 lost behind the bike sheds, I think they will be thinking long and hard on tax credits where ever they can get then.

no not at all, I have drove a prototype car when i was learning to drive, and someone from the metro owners club owns a prototype metro and i also know someone who as a 6R4 prototype too. So i think it boils down to the manufacture on that one Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
