Use the above - Ifor Williams canopies are made for farmers after all Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right. |

Realistically the IW canopy is more likely to be square and in-tolerance than the Defender you're trying to fit it to!

I thought that could be the problem!
It just does not quite fit as well as the other one. This is a bit better condition and has the door/flap instead of a mesh door. I loosened it all off again and pushed it as forward as possible but it makes contact with the gutter on the roof. I put some foam sticky pads between and then pulled the bolts down and got it a little better, just a gap one side that is visible. I will modify it when I install my camping equipment, maybe have a infill piece. I'm trying to get it as watertight as possible as I will store things in the back. |

Assume that it's a 'pre-loved' example? In which case it's very possible that it's been twisted by an impact at some point. I bought a cheap 90 version & cut it down to fit my 110 DCPU & once I drilled the rivets out of the rear hoop with it fitted to the pick up the hoop was very definitely out of square! It took quite a bit of persuasion to realign it to the cut down skin & even then I could never get both anteluce clips done up at the same time!

Yes it's very preloved
The one I took off is going on my Series now the canvas has disintegrated. I lined it up tonight and it's equally ill fitting |

I had the same problem when I swapped from one with mesh to a flap with a window. The old one fitted perfectly, the replacement hit the truck cab. It needs some small packing pieces between the tub and the canopy to give you enough clearance at the front for a flush fit at the back.

I like the looks of the Ifor canopy. But on a 90 it will be a pick-up and I need more space behind the steering wheel so I converted it in a Hard Top. But they look good.

I presume that it is a genuine 110 Double-cab canopy, not a 90 canopy which has been cut down? If the latter, it could have been cut on the skew. I bought my canopy new from IW and it fitted pretty well, but there is negligible clearance between the defender rear cab gutter and the canopy (which I have always assumed is how it is meant to be). On the whole it lets very little water in. I'll see if I can get a photo of the cab-to-canopy fit later on. |

Thank you for the pictures.
Yes genuine 110 as it has a little plate with the info on. Yours looks a better fit! I could get my hand between the seal and the window I loosened everything and pushed it forward and got it tighter and fastened rear bolts first and it's better. I think I will make something to go inside and fit out the back. I think I need some gas rams or something as the tailgate is heavy too I'm not disappointed though as it's still made it much more practical with the back fitted. |

Probably a daft question, but you did remove all the gubbins round the window and across the tub for the drain rail for the 3/4 tilt before you fitted the canopy? It certainly won't fit if you don't.
