Puma 2.4 Map and EGR deactivation
Hi All,

I am about to order a remap for my 2011 Puma with 110k kms on it. The tuner asked if I wanted to do an EGR delete using software.

Is this advisable to do on a vehicle of this age? if yes are there any long term negative affects?

Yes, no.
The EGR delete on my 2011 model was done approx 100k miles ago and there has been no downside. Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

I would say yes, and suspect you'll wonder why you waited so long.

245,000 miles on mine suggests no serious downsides.

I only just purchased her but had done my 2011 Puma in about 2012 which i sold in 2013. Was concerned about any long term affects.

Having just done this on my 2.2, I can tell you that you are going to wonder a couple of things:
1. Why in the world did jrl go with such a bad tune
And 2. Why in the world did I not do this sooner!

Bruce, I did a remap wit hEGR delete on my Puma in 2011, still going strong.

BAS remap FTW! Thumbs Up --

Gents, what is a good kit for blanking the EGR in Puma 2.4 TDCI, I know I've waited too long for this. How do I reprogram the ECU, I live in Sri Lanka. Any help is appreciated.

you need the ECU remapped, if you just fit a blank you will get a fault light DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
