Yes, they are very simple systems electronically and can be improvised with a couple of relays. They do all nowadays cut the ignition if you press the brake or clutch pedals and in some cases if you release the handbrake. If you have a lot of worklights and a winch, they're useful things to have. I don't see that warming the engine or prewarming/cooling the car falls within the scope of the allowed purposes in the regs, and I look forward to the first prosecution which may establish a useful precedent. In the event of a successful prosecution (it's probably actually dealt with by FPN now) it will be interesting to see if the owner then tries to sue the manufacturer of the car for making it possible. |

Warming the engine and preheating the interior of the vehicle on my old RRS was done via the separate diesel heater. So main engine was never started and no issues with DPF. No issue with legislation either.

MrEkeven and I are not alone in being among the few people in Scotland to own one, tonight returning from the Chinese takeaway in the next village I passed another Pangea Green First Edition but one with a winch and a roof tent - either it was on a delivery drive home or they were off for a camping weekend but haven’t listened to the weather forecast for these parts - thundery rain and storm force winds aren’t great for sleeping in a roof tent atop a new Defender. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

A chap on another (non Landy) forum I frequent is claiming a 'friend in the know' has told him the MOD have placed an order?
Can't see that myself, given their distaste for all things complicated and electronic. Rgds. Chris |

White fleet
Not unusual. Used to pop along to the MOD auctions at Blackbush in the past. Nothing was 'military looking'. Just normal vehicles. |

It is hard to understand what the MoD would want one for, they don't fit any particular operating requirement. Quite likely they'll get a few for eval, however.

Wheels for senior officers? I cannot see the 2.0 engines being much good for hauling along any armoured version though. It's likely Babcock, who manage the Mod white fleet, will just be utilising the Crown Commercial Services Framework Agreement:

Took the Rangie for its annual service yesterday, and had a look at the demo they had on the floor.
It looks smaller IRL than in photos, IMHO. Sitting position and driver's view is pretty good. Pedals are still way close together for comfortable left-foot braking. The boot is not as big as I expected, but the side curvatures of the opening means that you lose a lot of space if you were to fit a drawer system. I wonder how all the electronics are going to get on with that? |

Not sure what you mean?
I left-foot brake all the time in my RRS, no issues. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Tasman/Fuji is still the best colour combo IMO.

Surprised at that. Im the opposite. Think mine looks huge in real life and smaller in photos. Was parked next to a x5 yesterday and was sure from a distance is was a x1 or 3 looked so small next to my defender. |
