I'm just wondering if the name will be changed now as I hear people referring to the New "Defender" as "Defender 2" Nige

Separate site for series to end of classic Defender would be my vote, which is where I would be

This site came about in 2008 as the Defender replacement was "imminent" at that time, it's not my fault LR delayed it by so long
So that's why it was "Defender2" - it was intended to be for the next-gen car. In the meantime we ended up with a forum that's established itself for the "classic" Defender but with effectively the wrong name I'm not particularly keen to change the name as the forum is well established (12 years) under this name, plus it would break links everywhere - plus I would be a bit miffed as a member to be effectively shoved off elsewhere to make way for the owners of the new model. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

I’ve been a member since the forum was started. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, it’s fine just as it is and means that the few of us ( I think so far the only one of us!) who own both don’t have to join yet another forum. The folks that aren’t keen on the new will get over it in a while.
The one to start a new forum for is the Grenadier, it isn’t a Land Rover product no matter how much it looks like one I’m happy to fly the forum flag on my L663 Defender. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

There is a "Series" sub-section on here.
So maybe a Grenadier sub-section? As a Solihull loyalist all my life, the current betrayal by JLR is highlighted by the fact that I don't want to read about their new car, but I do want to read about the Grenadier utility 4X4. I'll probably never visit the Solihull factory again...... |

Then you don’t need to open the 2020 Defender section ever. I don’t want to read about V8’s or Pumas or series I just open them occassionally to click the “marked read” button.
If you click on the black subsection bar you can even close whole sections so you don’t see what’s been posted recently in them - see below about a suggestion for making a separate Grenadier subsection Martin - a suggestion - split the forums like the RRSport and FullFatRR forums are for L494 and L405 within the main forum heading then people can click on the black bat to hide the sections they don’t want to see (like you can already here but then you cannot read the Grenadier board because it is combined with the 2020 Defender in the Defender replacement subsection. So technically, at the moment, only one of the members is on the 'right' forum |
