Hi
had some issues with hesitation replaced fuel filter and then vcv, finally running fine, seems to pull well, but if I push it in 4th to 3500rpm i get a hesitation like a rev limiter. Searched hi and lo and failed to find any factual info on rev limits. Engine is totally standard, no aircon. around 116000km No re learn carried out yet. Does anybody have any insights to suggest next steps Thanks Chris |

It really shouldn't be necessary to do the pilot learn when changing a VCV. There are plenty of people here who've done it without issue. Darren

Exactly as above for me when I changed mine.
No problems at all. Check your MAF & MAP sensors. Possibly now you’ve replaced the VCV the other items parameters are not being met due to faults and or being dirty. Failing that, the VCV maybe at fault it’s self which would be a pain. I simply swapped mine and job done and been running better than ever since, but I do have almost new MAF & MAP sensors. Ordered an odb box to run with forscan, I'll try a relearn, its quicker than getting a filter down here, Off to the big city next week, i'll try and get another filter.
Anybody else had the filter issue? Maybe our friends in china are into "clap" copy fuel filters now Thanks for all the suggestions |

Much head scratching at a local independant, some diesel bug present after treating with enzyme, still bad running above 3k.
Tank out, cleaned inside, bit of crud and fuel bug removed In forscan you could see target rail pressure was not being met. Finally crankshaft position sensor removed, the end had been chewed a bit, seems like when the rear crankshaft oil seal was repalaced as part of the clutch replacment the sensor was incorrectly fitted. New sensor and away we go. Why it caused the fuel rai pressure to drop is a mystery. |
