Metalwork help please
This little brass plane (which looks to have been cast) was my Dad's and he started to file it many years ago, as you can hopefully see, but never finished it and I'd rather like to do that now.

I don't have his patience through, so what inexpensive little machine should I buy to take the graft out of it Question

Thumbs Up

I think you are stuck with hand finishing. I can't see any machine being capable of doing the job without ruining it, or at least ruining the character.

You could maybe speed things along with careful use of a Dremel, or air powered micro grinder, but you'd need to be careful, and still finish by hand. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I quite like it as it is now: you can clearly see what your dad has done to it. Once finished all the way, it would be just another airplane model to me. Perhaps it's different for you.

If you want to carry on with this, I was also thinking of using a dremel with a pollishing wheel (+paste?) and see how that goes first. Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000
