That sounds better than I was expecting. I might get the wife’s double cab done. Ray

Your such a romantic!
I see your over Cleckhuddersfax way! Nick is based out of knaresborough and mobile so could be with you in an hour. Check out Harper’s Car Detailing. He does a lot of defenders and other nice motors. |

Got the door plate made up for the spare wheel carrier. Need to measure and drill some holes and then paint. Went with stainless. Thought I might as well do it properly if copying Naka! Will get it painted and fitted over the next week or so.
Will post pics in due course. |

I have a bit of stainless left over from the door plate, so decided to renew the work light bracket as it’s looking rusty. I’ll paint everything up together tomorrow.

Make sure you isolate it from the roof or it will end up eating your roof away. Ray

Apres paint for the light bracket and the door plate. Etch Primer, 4 coats of high gloss black and Then clear coat. Look pretty tidy. Will get them fitted later this week.

Also, while enquiring with BAS about what they could do with the wife’s disco sport, I also asked Pete what it would cost to take mine from 150 to 170bhp. Needless to say I’m now booked I’m for Saturday morning! The wife will have to wait!!

Got the door plate mounted today, but unfortunately its even rattlier than before. There must be a small amount of play on the rose joints, although I couldn’t see it. If anyone has a Naka equivalent, do you wind out the bump stop to put pressure on the carrier to make it all secure?

Cheers Clayton, been a busy month or so. Learnt quite a bit as well, haven’t welded for nearly 20 years so was good to blow the dust off even if the bracket didn’t work out.
