Get them to redo the Injector Grades using the 16 digit Hex codes printed on each injector fitted to your defender and not from build records as they may have been changed and the injector grade write wasn't carried out properly, and also to redo Pilot correction learn properly. This should cure the Clattery bag of spanners, if not then you can move on to the fuel pump regulator, fuel pressure rail sensor etc. etc.

on one visit, it had a new download done and an injector pilot learn and was told it was cured ... have since had no replies to emails or calls .. and upon entering the dealer was told the service mamager wasnt available ... so i waited .... to no avail .. i honestly believe its an injector fault .. but will they listen .. NO !!! spent 20 years fixing them ... the dealers just wont listen !!!! |

Changing dealers should always be a consideration, some just can't/won't bother to sort problems out. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

have to day I find Droitwich not too bad. Not great but not bad either. Certainly better than shatstones or salmons.

Find a good independent who you can trust and work with them to get things sorted out. Problem with the dealerships is that you can only shout at the person on the service desk as that's as far as you can normally get.
Shrekman - The techs were probably trying to get their efficiency bonus that day and left out anything deemed unimportant, like a bellhousing bolt or two... |

Exactly for these reasons I refuse to buy a new one, until LR UK do something about their approach to franchising the brand I will always go independent.
There are good indy's out there that capitalise on the shocking reputation of the franchises (accept there are exceptions to the rule) find one and you won't go back. Imagine having anything from the LR range and not living in fear of the next failure....it is going to fail, it's just about the fight / cost to get it fixed |

I suppose you've checked turbo heatsheilds / sheilds underneath aren't rattling? If its had its gearbox out, something may be loose.
