Revert LED Headlights?
Hi guys, my TD5 90 has halo style LED headlights, which I'm not too keen on. Is it a straight swap to change to Wipac "Crystal Clear" lights with xenon bulbs please, or is the wiring totally different? I'm assuming probably the latter, which takes it out of the realm of something I would do myself.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe they are all the same H4 plug so should be a simple swap, add stainless lamp bezels and screws at the same time

Don’t blame you, I like LED but not those Halo ones.
As mentioned above, they should be H4.
They might, however, have tapped feeds from the sidelights above hence the halo ring. If so just unplug if it has connectors, if hard wired just isolate the ends of those so they are safe and can be tucked away.

Only take out the headlight retainer screws and don’t touch the alignment screws. You’ll see the difference.
After it’s done and the above SS bezels and screws are a good idea you might want to get them aligned at an MOT station. (Costs peanuts)
Whilst the beam adjustment wouldn’t be altered by you, the change will likely alter the beam pattern all the same.

Thanks a lot guys, I went ahead with this and all went fine as you suggested. The wiring was indeed wired in with the sidelights/indicators, but I was able to just unplug this (leaving part of the LED wiring in place, which at the time meant I thought it wouldn't work properly), and everything worked. I'm much happier with the look of the new headlights, far more fitting with the rest of the vehicle in my opinion.

I'm not a fan of halo headlights, in fact SWMBO always comments on Defenders with halo's when they are coming towards us. I'll not quote her exact words.
