Yes you can place a deposit because that’s what I did for potential 90 PHEV but launch of the 90 has now fallen back to spring next year and as for the PHEV I wouldn’t hold my breath. I put down £1000 in January 2018 and when I decided to take the one I’ve got but not from my local branch of the Pentland Group they transferred my money internally between showrooms, no problems sir! Whether any build slots are available or not though is a different matter - best ask member J77 as he is buying a 90 through the same dealership group as me and I think he has a slot, but it maybe a place on the dealership list of customers for the 90 rather than a build slot with the factory. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Hi
Been lurking and have a question. Can you place a deposit for a 90 to secure a build slot and then decide on final spec later on?
Whistle Thumbs Up

You can place a deposit for anything really, when you place it just say to them it’s a 90 you’re interested in. My deposit was placed last year as I was initially going for a 110 but decided 90 best suited my needs.

I was just about to submit my order then this little bug arrived and put an end to that, now 90s are delayed until September before an order can be submitted, so plenty time for you to play around with specs. I’m on about my 1,000,000th Laughing. It’s looking like March 21 delivery though they may arrive sooner. I’m sure my salesman said he had a 90 in the holding pool, so there maybe the odd one kicking around, we’re in regular contact so any info I get I’ll pass it on Thumbs Up

You have to laugh, the first thing he does is drill a hole through the bonnet to mount his GoPro!

I didn't realise the bonnet wasn't solid under the awful plastic chequer plate stuff.

This bonnet construction isn‘t meant to stay dry, or? Who designed such a plastics-metal composite, made by Toys‘r‘us? Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

I'm waiting for someone to remove a plastic section completely. In that video, he seemed to think it may just be held in with double sided tape.

I don't think anyone can complain about chequer plate on a classic Defender every again. Gerry has well and truly lowered the bar.

Rather annoying if the Terrain Response looses your setting every time you stop.

As far as I’m aware it’s metal underneath the plastic.

It should, or at least it has on all previous vehicles I’ve had with it fitted.

Looks like his one has TR2 with Auto function? Though doesn’t look like it’s selected, Perhaps that’s why it resets because that terrain doesn’t look bad enough to warrant anything other than comfort or general driving as it used to be called.

He must have off road pack as his one has configurable TR so will have auto TR.

My last 3 Range Rovers all had TR/ TR2, it doesn’t reset if you leave the engine running, maybe their auto stop/start wasn’t disabled so whenever he stopped the car the engine stopped. What he comments about is normal in my experience.
You don’t need configurable TR to have Auto TR2 - my last RRS ( a 2015.5MY HSE Dynamic) had auto TR2 but the TR wasn’t configurable. Configurable TR is something new with New Defender. I’m surprised your D5 didn’t have TR2 J77. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

In the older TR set up, it is bad enough when certain functions such as HDC and DSC are reinstated after an engine
restart.. must be a complete painif the TR programmes are defaulting. yet another pommie bar steward down under

D5 it was optional. Only standard TR

Pretty poor show if it defaults back to general driving.

Just tested my Velar, it retains its settings after a switch off.

I’ve just specced up Simons car on the configurator - I think he may have the Advanced Off-road Pack rather than the Off-road Pack as I didn’t see the active rear diff icon showing on his dash, also when the car was driven out of the dealership it looks like it was supplied on All Season tyres on black 19” wheels standard on the S model not what LR calls “Off-road Tyres”

For those wondering what the icon second from the right on the TR screen is, it isn’t the “super deep wade, trigger the floatation bags “ TR Mode it’s the icon for enabling the configurable screen for the Configurable TR.
I must admit I was a bit confused when scrolling through the TR settings the first time not to find the “ Highway” / “On Road” setting as its now called “Comfort”.
How long will it be before they add the RRS’s Dynamic mode for the 6 cylinder and the V8 S/C engined cars? It really makes a difference to the amount of body roll at speed on the road. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
