For when a battery needs changing.

Anyone used this or something similar? Is it really necessary for something like the Puma for a battery change?

Absolutly no need with a Puma all you need to do is put a radio code back in no trouble with imobiliser, if you have back up alarm you have to disconnect within 20 sec of turning ignition off with the passenger door open as you would have anyway If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Why not get something like a cTek 7000?

That has a supply mode amongst it's functions. Also has a few other functions whereas the device you link to appears to be just a set of 'jump leads' I.e. Connecting a slave battery to vehicle electrics.

Oooops am I being biased?

My radio seems to retain its code for about 10 minutes after disconnecting the battery.

My old head unit did too, but probably only three or four minutes! Seems that there is a delay in the unit code clearing so if you 'whip it out' and 'whip it in' there may be no need to re-enter the code.
