Somebody on here has made or adapted some steps to hang from their rock sliders but can be removed when not needed.

Fitting steps below rock sliders seems to defeat the object, somewhat Confused Darren

The idea is for good side protection when on site working and from other people’s doors in car parks , as we live in north Cornwall the car parks get rammed over the summer months and holiday makers don’t seem to give a f—k if they dent you doors Laughing
but we also need a step up as we are both short asses Rolling with laughter , if going playing for the day I would wip them off Thumbs Up

Fire and ice style side steps would fix your car park issue and are obviously a step. Problem solved!

I also have standard LR side steps with a plain box section side sill, they work a treat together. no modifications needed at all....

I can now get in my defender Rolling with laughter
Took about an hour to fit them , and makes it a lot easier to get in and out , I can’t remember my last defenders probably 15 of them over the last 30 years being 24 inches high to get in them , she is on 18 inch wheels so I guess that don’t help .

That lower bracket looks very vulnerable (to getting whacked) and the way it "clamps" on to the trailling arm bracket.... hmmmm.... Shocked

Yes I agree , it is very solid but I’ll be fabricating a better option, I like the step as it makes life a lot easier for a short ass Thumbs Up

Please do share your solution once you fabricate it. I'd like a better option to adding a lower step for rock & tree sliders that will not compromise clearance. Right now, I have foot loops welded to the bottom of my R&T sliders and they do get hung up on off road obstacles every now and then.

I've thought about those retracting step gizmos but I was told that they are not durable and will not survive. Either they will get bashed or they will just stop working as they don't take bashing and dunking well.
