With pictures on page 3 but not side exit although they do make one!
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic3204.html?highlight=griffin http://www.griffinperformance.co.uk/sideexitpipes.htm I binned the rear box and the cat which is another option! My centrebox is also straight through rather than offset. The noise difference at low rpm is negligable but you get a nice 'burble' at higher revs. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! Last edited by K9F on 5th Aug 2011 5:15pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Click image to enlarge If you have No Cat or Centre box beware if you have a tune you may encounter a flat spot 5 & 6 around 2400rpm so talk to your tuner Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

I have the same as Ken, from Twisted Performance, no Cat, no centre box and no back box - there is a small diminutive silencer where the centre box was, but as Ken rightly points out, Cat removal on a Puma can upset the engine around 2500 rpm, almost definitely if you have a tune, possible without.
The sound is great, and can be controlled by careful throttle input to avoid upsetting little old ladies or the neighbours late at night and at full tilt is a nice rumbly burble, nothing silly though. Ok had longlife in Hayes or styledynamics fit a complete straight thru exhaust, didn't go for side exit as I wasn't 100%. then managed to get a serck motorsport intercooler as they are right next door for a bargain price! Now all fitted, a marked improvement to power!. Just need to have it remapped, trying to decide who will give the best bang for my money....

My vote is for BAS, if you have decat straight thru and uprated intercooler, then Pete has the map for you! I have it and it's great!!

Thanks Fekete, only teasing as I know you had a couple of 'conversations' with BAS in the past. We all have personal preferences, that's why mine is grey and so is yours!
The long and short is that the majority of names we put forward all give exemplary service way beyond the call of duty, because we all have at least one thing in common!! Cheers and have fun with yours too. |
