bl@@dy hell !
went to London yesterday and just logged on to see if I need to pay my congestion charge along with ULEZ. but I'm not sure if I need to or not. I know I was on the peripheral of the zone ie A40 by Euston station but not sure if I actually entered. I went south down M1 to brick lane and left using A40 / M40. Now idea if I actually entered it at any point but can't be sure. If I don't pay the circa £27 I could get hit for £160 of penaltys (assuming I pay in the first 14 days and the can't tell me if I entered or not. then to add insult to injury on the payment page there's a disclaimer to say I'm paying the correct amount - well how can I tick that as I don't know if the correct amount is £0 as I don't know if I actually entered the zone(s) or not some might think I should surely know or not well I get that and to be honest if I knew where I was going and wasn't watching out for idiots that don't understand what white lines are for maybe I'd know the answer myself. |

thieving .
I realise upon reflection I was defo in the ULEZ but still not sure about the CCZ. On the basis of having to pay the ULEZ I've gone for it and paid for both. |

Don't understand why Brick Lane was on your route, did you go from Brick Lane to A40 via A501 (i.e past Euston Station), if you did then you did not enter the zone.
If at any point you turned left off the A501 then pound to a pinch of S**t you entered the zone. The signs are pretty massive so you should have noticed. The map is pretty detailed https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestio...harge-zone If you have a dash cam then it will have logged your exact journey ULEZ is same as Congestion Zone, you are mixing up the ULEZ with the LEZ (LEZ extends all the way north to M25) 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper Last edited by RFT on 18th Jun 2020 6:50pm. I've paid. as you say the fines are massive.
having spoken to someone at con charge there was no suggestion of anything but a penalty if I did drift into the zone. thanks for your replies. not sure why but sat nav took me from B'ham via m1 to brick lane and m40 on the return? |

its not like the motorist pays high road tax or the roads in some cases are the worst in Europe and fuel is expensive even at todays prices . lets make them pay more . a good friend has a business in Leeds and said it was a good thing to pay to enter by car until I pointed out that most will go out of town shopping he soon changed is mind
