Oils and quantities for service change 2015 2.2l Puma
Hi,

Have been looking on the forum but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for (though I bet it's posted here somewhere !!) but hence this post.

I'm going to do a Gearbox, Transfer Box & front and back diff transmission oil change but don't know the exact specs for the oils or the quantities . . any advice warmly welcomed.

So:-

Gear Box . . . what oil . . . how much ?
Transfer Box . . what oil . . . how much ?
front & back diffs . . . what oil . . . how much needed in total ?

Cheers,

Nostromo Very Happy

United Kingdom 2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Keswick Green
This is what I put together for my 2012 2.2 Puma. There is also a "sticky" at the top of the Puma section of this forum.

After studying information online and consulting Opie Oils for advice, Concluded that the following oils are appropriate:
Engine 7 litres
For the engine equipped with DPF, oil needs to be 5W-30 to spec. Ford M2C934-B (low SAPS).
Opie oils has several. Selected Millers XF Longlife C1 5W-30 Synthetic.

Gearbox 2.2 litres
Handbook says Castrol BOT130M but this is not generally available. It is a synthetic 75W/90 GL-4 spec.
Selected Castrol Syntrans Multivehicle 75W-90 GL-4 synthetic .

Transfer Box 2.4 litres
Handbook recommends Castrol Syntrax 75W-90 or equivalent.
Selected Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90 GL-5 synthetic

Diffs 1.7 litres each
Handbook recommends Texaco Geartex EP 85W/90 or equivalent.
Opie Oils recommended Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90 GL-5 synthetic

It's worth noting that both the diffs and transfer box are 'fill to spill', i.e. fill until it starts to come out of the filler plug. The gearbox however, is fill with a measured amount and overfilling is a bad thing. Darren
